The Pomona Valley Chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild is a group of Piano Technicians and enthusiasts dedicated to the proper care and service of pianos. Located in the "Inland Empire" of Southern California, the chapter's primary focus is providing information to members about piano technology. We do this mostly through monthly meetings, annual conventions, conferences and one-on-one sharing of technical skills and knowledge.
The About Us page provides a brief history of our chapter including past chapter luminaries, a chapter member roster, as well as a list of current chapter board members. And the Find A Technician page provides a quick and convenient way of locating a Registered Piano Technician member of our chapter.
We encourage anyone interested in pianos and piano technology to browse this web site. Be sure to check the Piano Technology page for useful information about pianos.
The Piano Technicians Guild, the official organization of the Registered Piano Technician, is the world's premiere source of expertise in piano service and technology. Based in Kansas City, KS, the PTG has over 4100 members throughout the United States, Canada and around the world.
The mission of the Piano Technicians Guild is to promote the highest possible standards of piano service by providing members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.
The Piano Technicians Guild (PTG) is a trade association with membership open to anyone with a professional or avocational interest in piano technology. However, the title of Registered Piano Technician must be earned by passing a series of rigorous examinations. PTG members who have not passed the RPT examinations may avail themselves of PTG's extensive educational offerings in preparation for their taking the RPT exams, and may advertise their PTG memberships.

Program: Pamella Consoli reported a small but successful Christmas party on December 12. I was unable to attend due to a snow storm which threatened to close the Cajon Pass. The food was good and the small group gathered around the piano and sang Christmas Carols. Maybe we should declare Christmas in July or August since there are no holidays in August. The weather is better and the time is less hectic.
Our January meeting will be at Keyboard Concepts in Orange County to attend a 2-part Wessel, Nickel & Gross presentation on how to install their new parts. In part one, the team from WNG will be talking about their new carbon fiber action parts and showing us how to select, install and repair them. No need to worry about dinner as food will be provided. We don't want anyone to be late for Part 2, which will be a hands-on shop where we all get to experience the special tools and processes involved with these new parts. We urge everyone to attend these sessions as your future might depend on it.
